Our Programmes & Projects

We offer diverse programmes and projects to support our community's growth in Calgary, Alberta.

Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria Canada, Calgary Chapter.

1. Educational Programmes

AKSANC Calgary Educational programmes encompass a wide range of initiatives to support students from Akwa Ibom pursuing their studies in Nigeria and Canada. These initiatives include scholarships that provide financial assistance to deserving students, enabling them to access quality education and achieve their academic goals. By offering support for students in multiple institutions of learning, AKSANC aims to empower the next generation of leaders and professionals from Akwa Ibom, fostering their growth and success both domestically and internationally.

2. WELCOMING Programmes

At AKSANC Calgary, our welcoming programmes offer our members the opportunity to organize welcoming projects and meet-and-greets for new Akwa Ibom arrivals in the area. These initiatives aim to introduce newcomers to the economic opportunities and potential of their new city. Through these meet-and-greets, community and civic leaders collaborate to provide valuable information and resources to members of our community, fostering a sense of belonging and support among all residents.

3. Fundraising Programmes

AKSANC Calgary fundraising programmes are vital in supporting our organization's mission by providing the necessary funding for our scholarships and welcoming programs. Through our galas, we are able to bring together our community to celebrate and raise awareness for our cause, creating a platform for supporters to contribute to our goals and make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. These events serve as a means of financial support and as a way to foster connections and build relationships with our donors, partners, and volunteers, strengthening our network and ensuring the sustainability of our initiatives for years to come.

4. COMMUNITY building Programmes

Community building programmes at AKSANC Calgary provide members with opportunities to actively engage with the larger Calgary community. In addition to organizing trash pick-ups and participating in parades to showcase our culture, we also host galas that celebrate our traditions through vibrant displays of traditional dresses and a wide array of delicious food varieties. These events foster a sense of unity among our members and allow us to share our rich cultural heritage with the broader community, creating meaningful connections and promoting inclusivity.
